    Nikkei published work-wide market share for digital camera manufactures in 2022. analyzed the Nikkei published world-wide market share performance for calendar year 2022. Despite grumblings from customers unhappy with the lack of third-party lenses, Canon increased their lead to 46.5 percent from 45.7 percent. Nikon also managed to increase their market share from from 11.3 percent to 11.7 percent keeping them solidly in third place. Sony still holds onto their second place position, but with a drop of .9 percent to 26.1 percent.

    Panasonic lost .2 percent to 4.2 percent as the market anticipates a refresh of their camera line with phase detect autofocus that we saw introduced in the S5 II in January, 2023. FujiFilm also lost ground, down .1 percent to 5.8 percent.
