Map Camera announced the discontinuation of the Leica S3 medium format SLR. Very few companies still sell SLRs, let alone still manufacture them, with Pentax being the big exception.
Rumors suggest Leica is planning to introduce a new medium format mirrorless camera in 2025. If this rumor holds true, it is plausible that the existing collection of S-mount lenses can still be utilized in the upcoming mirrorless system through the employment of a mount adapter. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that such a transition may entail significant costs.
