Japanese publication, Map Camera, tweeted that Canon has discontinued the very first R system camera, the EOS R, announced at Photokina in October, 2018, which was followed by the EOS RP in January of 2019. It was Canon's first serious full frame mirrorless camera, paving the way for the EOS R5 and R6.
Just shy of five years. A very short time when you consider other cameras, much older, like the 5d IV are still selling. Cameras that came out over 8 years ago.
