Canon cancelled the Canon R7c in 2022 according to Canon Rumors.

Last year we reported that a Canon EOS R7 C was in the pipeline and likely for 2023. An APS-C cinema camera seemed like a nice new direction for Canon. Unfortunately, we have been told recently that the project was scrapped in late 2022 — Canon Rumors.

Canon Rumors didn't say why or if the Canon R7c had been replaced by another idea, but the Ordinary Filmmaker speculated that Canon could have chosen to create an APS-C version of the R5 for less than $1800 to compete against the Sony FX30.
