What's Hot

TTartisan just announced the 500mm f/6.3 prime for the RF mount, E mount, Z mount and the L mount. Super telephoto primes are usually on the high side of expensive, but this lens costs $329. It's obviously not meant to compete against the G master or L series glass, but those looking for affordable super telephotos.

The price makes a little more sense once you discover that the lens is a manual focus lens only. The makes it suitable for astro photography, landscapes, of wildlife of slow moving objects. Teasing aside, the TTartisan 500mm f/6.3 is priced to attract new photographers without a large budget.

The images provided are low resolution making it impossible to determine the amount of aberration visible, though the pictures of the cosmos does show some aberration when looking at the starts, but overall the images look decent.

We like the Sigma 150-600mm has better sharpness with autofocus, but costs $939, the RF 600mm also has a fixed aperture, but of f/11 along with the RF 800mm. The 600mm costing $799 and the 800mm costing $999. For someone with a first camera, going to high school or college, or just starting out, $329 provides an opportunity capture subjects from far away while teaching how to shout manual focus.
