Yodobashi Camera released their sales data every two weeks giving us a glimpse at the top 10 camera skus at the fourth largest camera retainer in Japan. The top 10 data is from July 16 to July 31, 2023. Nikon is back on top with the Nikon Z8. The previous dip is likely due to not enough cameras in the pipe.
The Sony a7 IV still dominates with second and fourth place. The a7 IV has been in the top three pretty much since it was release back in December 2021. And if you are counting, Sony dominates the top 10 again with five cameras in the top 10 with Canon largely silent with on one camera in the top 10, the Canon EOS R6 Mark II. Perhaps Canon customers are waiting for a refresh of the R5, the release of the EOS R1, or perhaps the lack of third party lenses has many considering Sony.
