The Canon EOS R5 will get firmware 1.8 before the end of April, 2023. According to Canon Rumours, the Canon R5 firmware update will be a big update, bigger than any other we've seen for the Canon R5.
This will keep the camera current and competitive with the Sony a7R V, and the Nikon Z8 if it comes out.
Rumoured Firmware Specifications
- Lens breathing correction
- Pre-shooting buffer
- 30 minutes record limit removed
- Vehicle tracking AF mode for bikes, trains & planes
- Additional tracking for more animals
The Ordinary Filmmaker goes further stating that the firmware update will receive IS Control. For more Canon EOS news and rumors, click here.
